Why do I bother?

Being a Jew and all, I’ve never cooked Easter dinner before. I was aware that ham was a favorite, but that never made any sense to me. I’m pretty sure that Jesus kept kosher, and I never heard anyone call him the Ham of God.

Lamb always made a lot more sense to me — the paschal lamb. And something green, for spring. I have a rule to never try a new recipe on company, but I broke it for the occasion. It worked out great, thanks to beginner’s luck. Look at that lamb lollipop! Look at that chilled pea soup!
